Saturday, April 8th:  The Frankfort Avenue Business Association, Crescent Hill Community Council and the Clifton Community Council would like to invite you, your family and friends to participate in the 29th Annual Frankfort Avenue Easter Parade.  The Easter Bunny and Grand Marshall, Easter Parade creator and organizer for the past 28 years, Michaelle Warner, will kick off the parade.  Make plans to come out and celebrate the return of spring on beautiful Historic Frankfort Avenue!  The parade will travel from Birchwood to Pope street leaving at approximately 11:30-11:45am.  If you have any questions, email Scott Endres at scottendres@yahoo.com

Saturday, April 8th:  Kentucky Shakespeare returns with the free Shakespeare in the Parks tour this spring. Our 7-actor, 90-minute production of HAMLET will tour to 37 parks in Indiana and Kentucky this April and May. Grab a chair or blanket and join us in Seneca Park on April 8 at 2:00pm!

Monday, April 10thJoin USTA Kentucky for Seneca Park Tennis.  Spring sessions will be held Monday April 10th, 17th, 24th, and May 1st from 5:30-6:30pm.

Tuesday, April 11th:  Jefferson County tenants, learn about your housing rights at a Tenants’ Rights Workshop hosted by Home of the Innocents, Louisville Coalition for the Homeless, and U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.  Hear directly from the experts from Kentucky Fair Housing Council, Louisville Legal Aid, and Louisville Metro Code Enforcement on Tuesday April 11th at the Home of the Innocents Gymnasium (1100 E Market St).  There are two workshops from 10am-12pm and/or 4pm-8pm.  Contact timothy.s.nicolazzi@hud.gov , 502-618-8180

Tuesday, April 11th:  Join UCHM (150 State St) for a Senior Program Speaker Series. Age in Place: Deacon intern at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church Judy Gradle, is a retired Occupational therapist who will share her work as well as real life experiences. Friday, April 14th:  Whitehall is pleased to announce it will hold an educational program for adults, “Biodiversity in Your Own Back Yard,” on Friday, April 14. Wildlife biologists and authors Dan and Judy Dourson will take participants on a three-part journey through Whitehall to discover the biodiversity present in Louisville.  The program will begin at 1:30 p.m. The cost is $25 per person. Tuesday, April 18th:  Meet at Mellwood Art Center main entrance for Clifton Heights Clean up Day from 5:30-7 pm.  You’re welcome to stay for the Clifton Heights Quarterly Community Meeting, 7-8:30 pm in the Pigment Room.  It is Fair Housing Month.  Speakers are Tony Curtis, Metropolitan Housing Coalition, who will address affordable housing and renters rights and Ja’mela Armstrong, Center for Neighborhoods, who will share their mission and how we can partner to improve the livability of our community.

Wednesday, April 26thOn April 26 an event titled “REAL Good News” will hold its 10th in a series of quarterly public Zoom meetings aimed at making sure Louisville implements its green energy goals. In 2020 the Metro Council passed a resolution to move the city’s operations to 100% clean renewable electricity by 2030. That resolution also sets a goal of 100% clean energy for the entire Louisville community by 2040.  April’s event will feature a discussion by an expert panel on how other cities have transitioned to solar and how Louisville can follow their example.  Speakers will include Steve Ricketts, chair of the Kentucky Solar Energy Society and owner of Generation Solar; Ryan Van Velzer, Energy and Environmental Reporter at Louisville Public Media; and Andrew Owen, newly-elected Metro Council Representative for District 9.  Here’s the url for the Zoom link to register: https://tinyurl.com/3xzya46s
